A former university student was arrested twice in two days, on Dec 2 and at FIU on the third.
Captain Delrish Moss told PantherNOW Gal Eric Presser – an FIU alumni, who graduated in 2016 from the Steven J. Green School of International & Public Affairs- was arrested today by FIU Police for carrying a concealed weapon on the Modesto Maidique Campus.
According to a witness at the scene of the arrest, the individual was previously arrested on Dec. 2 for impersonating a police officer in MMC.
Moss said Miami Dade Homeland Security had arrested the man previously, and that he violated a protection order.
Today, FIU Police arrested him once again in front of FIU’s law school and searched his car, finding police gear such as a bulletproof vest.
While the man had some police gear in his car, Captain Moss said that FIUPD did not find any ammunition or guns in his car or on his person.
However, he did have a knife and was arrested by FIUPD for carrying a concealed weapon on university property.
The witness said someone called FIU’s Police Department after they saw a suspicious individual in the parking lot.
According to Captain Moss, FIUPD saw the car which matched the description given to them by a neighboring jurisdiction.
