After the pressure of campaigning was set aside, the votes tallied, and the winners announced, the newly elected representatives of SGA-MMC met for the installation ceremony on Monday, May 12, in the Graham Center’s SGA Chamber.
Welcomed by Administrators, Faculty, staff, and loved ones, the new representatives were initiated by vice president of Student Affairs, Larry Lunsford, who congratulated the newly elected officials and urged them to make the best out of their time in office.
After Lunsford secured the SGA pin on each of the new representatives, the senators and executive board members took the oath of office, affirming their commitment to serving the student body.
Upon being welcomed to the podium, SGA-MMC president Alexis Calatayud, a junior political science major, shared some words with her fellow representatives.
“This is our student government, and this year is what we make it,” said Calatayud. “We are so excited to forward the goals of the University and make a mark.”
